| Are
Your Thoughts Compelling You To Take The Appropriate Action?
By: Randall Gartman
I love talking about this because "lack of
vision" is probably the single largest contributing factor
for failing to take action in a positive direction toward our dreams.
To some people that may sound obvious because they read a self help
book or two but what if their visions and plans were based on incorrect
information.
Some people turn into SUTO experts in the health
and fitness industry and become absolutely convinced, without a
doubt, they are doing the appropriate things to lose weight, gain
muscle and get healthy. They read a few health books and have been
an active member of a gym for so long they have turned their back
on certain facts that will help them.
I constantly witness people performing dangerous
exercises with improper form, week-after-week and they still look
the same after 10 years. They haven't gotten any stronger, thinner,
more defined--or anything.
To make things worse, these people are now convinced
they are genetically incapable of attaining their goals so anything
you tell them becomes a discussion about their savvy knowledge of
fitness. This is primarily because they have read all the latest
issues of Muscle and Fiction, and they have ultimately turned into
a human Piggy-Bank for the supplement companies.
Let me show you what I mean:
Many women will fail to envision their entire
body so they solely concentrate on exercises that they think will
help them lose weight around their butt and thighs. In fact, the
latest fitness magazines usually grabs their attention with a "catchy"
headline like, "Lose Those Stubborn Inches Off Your Butt And
Thighs With This New Doctor Approved Strategy".
Here is the problem with that thought process--
One - You can't spot reduce fat.
If you have a fat hiney and thick thighs, you will burn fat twice
as much with full body exercise routines and proper nutrition.
It get's better!
Two - your muscle can do two things - Hypertrophy
(grow) and Atrophy (shrink). If you don't move your muscles,
your muscle will atrophy (shrink) and stop working after extended
lack of use. If you work the muscle - what do you think the muscle
will do? If you said tone up, you would be WRONG! The correct answer
is Hypertrophy (grow).
FYI - You
can't tone a muscle, it is physically impossible. TONE is a color
of paint. You can make it grow thicker and more dense and make it
appear more firm.
Granted, you need to build some muscle around
the butt and thigh area but if all you do is concentrate on your
butt and thighs, what do you think you will get? My
friend , you will get big muscles in the thighs and butt area and
you will still carry that fat around them if you aren't burning
the appropriate amount of calories. The more you train your
butt and thighs the more developed they can get. Don't stop exercising
your butt and thighs, but treat them as equals with your other body
parts.
Do you see why it is important to really
look at your total outcome? Not
seeing your entire dream can actually be very detrimental and you
can become very unbalanced.
I am not just picking on women because the next TipTow
eZine will focusing on an issue that usually plagues men more. I
am not saying that women don' t experience the same issues, they
just aren't plagued by them.
Part 1 - I need to do more butt reducing exercises
Part 2 - Since I am real skinny, I need more work than other people
because I need to add more muscle.
Part 3 - If I keep doing those exercises I will get too bulky
Stay tuned for the Next TIP-Tow
- "Are Your Thoughts Compelling You To Take The Appropriate
Action?" Part 2.
