How
to fail at your health plan!
By: Randall Gartman
You might be wondering why I would write such an
article but I felt it necessary that I inform you of the many things
we all do to sabotage ourselves on a daily basis. I watch people
walking through the stores buying foods that they think are healthy
because it says "FAT FREE" on the outside of the box.
Now, people are beginning to purchase everything under the sun that
says "LOW CARB".
Advertising is changing the way you eat
and what you need to understand is, "none of these companies
are interested in your health". Every company that offers a
product in a grocery store is only interested in selling you a product
at any price-->of course you are the only one paying the price
;--)
Here are the top 5 things that will kill
your health plan:
1. Listening to product advertising
2. Reading Diet Books that promise amazing results in only 30 days.
3. Reading Magazine Articles that aren't written by credible sources
4. Following a diet that requires you to eliminate a food group.
5. Following the advice of Steroid-Enhanced Bodybuilders within
bodybuilding magazines.
Notice how all the reasons I have listed
are geared toward misleading you in some way? It's kind of like
smoke and mirrors. Most people fail because they were
given poor information to follow by people, articles or even Medical
Doctors they trusted. I want to mention Doctors because many of
them are offering health and nutrition advice based on the same
information above.
For instance--How many classes on nutrition and exercise
do you think a Medical Student has to take before they can become
a Doctor. NOT ONE. So why are all these Doctors writing books on
Diet and Exercise, marketing themselves as nutritional and exercise
experts? If you said "to make money by using their title"
you would be correct. I want to say that not all Doctors have done
this but the majority of the Diet Books that have been written by
so-called Medical Experts were not based on any sound nutritional
advice.
WAKE UP!!! The diet and health industry is a fantasy
world that is like the Wizard of Oz. "Don't look at the man
behind the curtain. Pay no attention to him". Take the time
to find yourself a competent expert you trust and then use a little
commonsense. The basic premise behind a good health plan is to eat
healthier, more frequent and smaller meals while participating in
more physical activity. If your source of information is telling
you to eat all protein and fat you want or they are telling you
to eat stuff that would make a billy-goat puke, then find some other
source or information or throw away the book. |
