Back and shoulder day

DIET SUCKED TODAY. I took a cheat day. My wife made some really good spaghetti and I couldn't resist PIGGING OUT! There was no such thing as a proper portion size for this meal. I didn't eat so much that I got bloated feeling but I ate more than I should have. I am probably at 3800 or more calories today.

I will say that I felt extremely strong though with all those extra calories and carbs.

Bent over back rows went up 10 lbs

Deadlifts went up 20 lbs but my grip started giving out. I used wrist straps on my last set.

Military press wasn't as good- no gain but I did get an extra rep in on my last set. I will probably need to go up in a week or two.

lateral raises. I went down on the weight so I could feel the movement and I am really glad I did. I got an awesome shoulder pump. I really concentrated on the movement and paused at the top for about a half second. I think I will stay at this same weight next week and gradually start back up the ladder.

I didn't add a carb at the end of my workout because I think I had plenty. I just took some branched chain aminos from Beverly International.

Done.

My son is doing better. He had some friends over today and they played music in the garage. His fractured hand hinders his playing but not as much as you might think.

Easy Day

I just did some very light cardio.

My abs are almost gone ;-( That is kind of the perils of getting big for competition. I won't put on more that 12-13 lbs of extra fat weight while I eating to get big. If I start putting on too much fat weight I will cut back on my calories.

I will say that I feel incredibly strong today! I really feel great, even after some soreness from leg day yesterday.

What is bothering me? It is really difficult for a formerly obese person who lost as much weight as I did, to eat big again.

There is that little nagging voice that say's, "what if you lose control Randy" and stuff like that.

I am not really scared that I will get crazy because I am having to convince myself to eat and lift heavy like I am doing but.. I am a little nervous-- just a little. I feel confident that I am progressing just like I should be.

My son is doing ok. I going to the Doctor with him tomorrow to get his hand XRay'd. They want to make sure it is setting ok. I think it is but we will see. I'll pray and keep my fingers crossed.

Things are better for now

Evidently my son hit that kid harder than we all thought.

It seems the kid didn't want to fight anymore either when he pinned my sone because my son broke his nose and the kid bit a whole through his tongue the sized of a quarter. He too was rushed to the hospital and missed school.

My son was really humble and was truly concerned for the kid so we went to visit. Everything seemed ok and hopefully it will remain. My son has nothing to prove and hopefully neither does the other kid.

Today - Legs

I hate legs and my squats are never that good

squats 8x245,6x280,6x305,5x315 --more improvement here is needed I got two more which is good but hell my bench is as good as my squat. Maybe I am just too scared or timid. I always feel uneasy doing squats

semi-straight leg deadlifts

10x150, 8x180, 6x235

I swear I could do 40 lbs more but when I go that heavy, my hamstrings don't burn or get as sore the next day. Not real sure why. I will stay here and work up. I feel super strong in this lift for some reason. Back is straight with lordonic curve.

Lying Leg Curls 3x12-8
12x75, 10x90, 8x120 no movement but I felt better with the weights. next week I bet I move up.

one leg Standing Calve Raises (I did dumbbell this week with 3x20-15 60's in my hand -- that burne more than the rack

Seated Calve Raises 3 plates 3x12 added 10lbs couldn't get the last one.

-----Cool stuff----

Try this - cooked oatmeal, Chocolate protein, ICE and blend.

Put it in to the freezer and you have a pretty good tasting protein pop. curves a sweet tooth pretty good too.

That may not seem cool to you but it is awesome when you are eating pretty strict.

3400 calories - Turkey meatballs with mushroom sauce and wild rice with mixed vegetables was awesome today.

1.7 gallons of water. I drank a lot while doing legs today.

Just got in from the Hospital

I had something really cool to post tonight but things changed and I don't have time.

My son was getting picked on by some bullies and he couldn't walk away any longer. He finally had to fight one of them.

The kid was two years older than my son, outweighed him by 30 lbs and the top of my son's head was at his chin.

My son, though not the victor, won. My son hit that boy several times (according to witnesses) but Dillon slipped on the wet pavement so the boy pinned my son. The kid couldn't hit my son but my son couldn't get up. I got their to pull the kid off my son.

My son is not allowed to fight but even that kid's friends said my son couldn't back out of it this time because they cornered him.

The other kid's nose was bleeding and his eye was black and his mouth was bleeding.

My son Dillon looked ok, without a scratch on him, except the scratch marks on his elbow when he hit the pavement.

My son wasn't mad or crying and was actually pretty calm, however when I got him home I noticed his right hand was swollen.

After careful examination, I determined his hand was broke.--(boxer's fracture) so I took him to the hospital.

My son now has a cast on his hand because of fighting - something I believe he could not have avoided.

I am mad - but I am proud too in a way. It would have been much better if my son could have claimed victory but I am so glad neither boy was really hurt too bad.

I am mad, not at my son but at the fact he had to fight a bully when he clearly didn't want to fight. My son showed that he wasn't scared and I hope that is enough. Most of the kids came to our House to tell my son they were amazed at how well he did against the TOUGHEST KID IN SCHOOL.

I am just afraid that this might not be over and there will be more problems. This kid, however, did come up to Dillon and shook his hand afterwards to tell him it was great fight. My son didn't know how to take that but hopefully that is enough.

The fight evidentally was because the bully's girlfriend likes my son. It is not anything new because this girl has like my son since the 3rd grade and was suspended last year for fighting a girl over my son.

My son has no desire for this little lovesick girl, nor does he even talk to her at school. The Bully just needed to feel like he was fighting for his girl I guess. Dillon said --"You didn't have a problem with me getting in the way of your girlfriend so we could have avoided all this if you would have just asked dude."

Pretty grown up I think. That's when I stuck my toungue out at the Bully (just joking). I just hugged my son and took him to the hospital.

All over a girl--Go figure!

Heavy Chest an Bi's and tri's

Improved on everything but didn't get 315 for 6 on my bench. I get to go up on weight though on my first two sets.

Chest and Tri's were yesterday

Went heavy on 3 sets of 5-6 reps
Bench 285 (went 7),305 (went 6),315 (went 5), Dumbbell Inclines 90, Weighted Dips+70lbs, Tricep Extensions 150lb went up 5

1.7 gallons of Water
I increased my calories to 3500 just like I said but I didn't wait till the end of power phase. I may go to 4000 calories if I can keep the fat weight down to a minimum.

I ate pretty clean today. My son came in with some doritos though (dang him) so I had to steal a couple (I swear only a couple). My wife even made a pie and I didn't eat a slice.

It is late but I will have some real cool stuff for tomorrow's post. Just some thoughts that make you go Hmm.
