I am pretty sore today
Sunday, January 2, 2005, 04:52 PM
Go big or stay at home. Lifting heavy is making me pretty sore. I am not debilitated but or walking funny but I feel my workout pretty good.

I just have to make sure I am really recovered for my next heavy day tomorrow. My chest feels pretty good but my back and legs are pretty sore today.

I just want to be fully recovered for Wednesday's heavy leg workout.

I would be real interested in finding out about some great supplements to help with recovery besides glutamine. I don't like creatine because I bloat and cramp. I also have had a kidney stone in the past and there are some studies that show too much creatine could contribute.

If you have ever had a kidney stone, you will know what I mean when I say, "I am not taking any chances". It's kind of like passing a bowling ball through a garden hose. (don't want to brag -- small garden hose ;-D

My breakfast was 4 egg whites one yolk
Bell Pepper and onion
whole wheat tortilla.
plum
low sodium salsa - HOT
6 Branch chain aminos - Beverly

I had a beverly protein shake with cream

Can of Tuna / 1/2 apple
small potato

lunch - 2 chicken breasts
Vegetable stir fry in 1 tbs olive oil
1 yam
6 branch chain aminos

Beverly Protein shake with Cream

Post dinner later 1 gallon of water so far

Today was really cool

First, some background on me that some of you might not know.

I have been happily married to my beautiful wife Bridgett for 13 years and I have 3 great children; Amber, Dillon and Emily.

I also play the guitar and have written a few songs that I was able to sell to some small labels but nothing big. After you reach 40, the whole idea of becoming a new rock star kind of fades pretty quick. You can do it but your odds are really low.

Anyway, my son Dillon picked up the guitar about 10 months ago and he has really taken off.

I am not talking twinkle-Twinkle little star or mel bay's greatest hits. I mean, I showed him a couple of things that he liked and he started really practicing and getting into it.

About 3 weeks ago, I showed him Crazy Train by Ozzy and he is playing it!!! My son is 12 and he is already writing his own music and it is good-- REAL GOOD.

I will brag about my other kids another time but his playing today brought tears to my eyes. He is so dedicated and good. I am pretty sure he is doing it for himself and not to impress me too. I want to be sure he isn't just playing because of me. I will help him if he wants it but I will not drive him

He really loves it and that is what's important.

Just a thought

I was at a site called big fat blog and I am mixed about their message. I am not sure what they are trying to say.

If they are saying they are obese and proud, that's okay with me. However, if they are saying obesity is not something that can be overcome, it would be wrong and here is why.

My TipTow readers have already heard this but--

When someone gets the Gastric Bypass surgery, what almost always happens? They lose weight, don't they? Ask any medical professional what is involved in the surgery and I will bet the farm they don't remove a fat GENE, do they?

So--Why do they lose weight? They are forced to take in less calories because there tummy is smaller, pure and simple.

However, I would never suggest starving yourself to accomplish your goals. Some of the posts at the Big Fat Blog were upset with some so-called health gurus poor advice (as well they should be) but some of the other posts seemed to say, "let's live with obesity because it's our right".

It is if some of them were looking for a spokesperson for obesity and when Kirsty Alley said she wasn't going to stay fat, they were depressed.

I don't want to offend anyone but I am sure I am going to by writing this but here it goes.

I was obese, suffering from several illnesses due to obesity and I am living proof that obesity is not something you have to live with-- PERIOD.

If you choose to stay obese--that is cool with me and I will love you anyway. I will never identify you by your weight and I will ask for you by your name.

I also think it is very wrong for anyone to discriminate overweight people but they do. I had people whispering behind my back in buffet lines figuring since I was fat I must be deaf too.

I would support any organization that was out there to help people get their rights but I won't support any organization that wants their people obese for a cause -- That is reprehensible.

I will post my journal tonight after my workout.
